Inamoratas

The definition of the female role often results in a small box in which I always find myself suffocating.  The fact is men and women are different physiologically and psychologically; but why the need to place more restrictions on the female gender? Women have been considered weak, submissive, dependent, and sexual. In 2015,  centuries after the beginning of feminism and the women’s liberation movement, we can still witness these terms being associated with womanhood.

Inamoratas portrays the female body with pride. It also depicts strength, vulnerability, and sensuality.  The sexual undertone is way of uncovering the social taboo of female sexuality. All of these women are proud lovers; hence the title “Inamoratas.”  Even when vulnerable, they are never weak. They take charge and are not passive.
